Next paint-out is at the Herb, Tea, and Arts Festival on April 27,2013, on the Montpelier Mansion grounds

Peer Critiques are scheduled nearly monthly. During these sessions, artists who want input on a piece of art show their pieceBefore the peer critiqueAfter the peer critique and identify what they don't like about the work so others can provide suggestions. Before and after photos of a painting brought by a guest, Kristinah Ayala, to one of our session. Kristinah has graciously consented to our sharing these with you. As you can see from the before photo (at left), it was a strong piece, with an interesting treatment of portraiture. But Kristinah was not completely satisfied, so the group discussed possible approaches to strengthening the image. Kristinah incorporated some of those ideas into the piece; the after image (at right) shows an even stronger and more compelling painting.

Next peer critique will be held Sunday May 19 at 2 pm
