Jane Trout
Jane was interested in art as a child. As an adult she has spent time in drawing and painting. She began to study watercolor with Skip Lawrence in the early seventies. Over the years, she studied with many different teachers, notable among whom are Eugene Davis, Joe Mayer, Fritz Briggs, and Frank Webb. She is an artist member of the Baltimore Watercolor Society and serves as secretary to the board. She has been accepted into the annual juried shows of the Patuxent Art League and the Laurel Art Guild. She has had several one-person shows.
Painting is a chance to balance relationships of shape, color and value to create interesting patterns and moods. She seeks to view subjects through the lens of her personal interpretation. She wants to develop harmony but with the excitement of conflict. Her work is focused on color and composition. She usually works in a loose manner. She seeks to avoid the sentimental and extraneous, while conveying a wide variety of moods and subjects.
